Terms of service
Last updated 17 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Pure Digital Limited, a company registered in Ireland (company number 772956) with its registered office at 108 Ash House, Red Arches Drive, Dublin 13, D13 X2KD, Ireland ("we", "us"), which provides Handl, the job management software available at www.handl.ie and in the Handl mobile apps (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data.
1. Who can use Handl
Handl is a business tool. You must be at least 18 and use the Service for your trade or business, either for yourself (for example as a sole trader) or on behalf of a business that you're authorised to bind to these terms. "You" means that person or business.
2. Your account
- Give accurate details and keep them up to date.
- Keep your password secure. You're responsible for activity under your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
- Each account has one login. Don't share your login with other people.
3. Free trial
New accounts get a 14-day free trial with the features of the Master plan. No card is needed to start. When the trial ends, you need a paid plan to keep adding and editing work. If you don't choose one, your account becomes read-only: you can still sign in, view and export your data, and nothing is deleted. Choosing a plan unlocks the account straight away. We may change or withdraw the free trial offer for new accounts at any time.
4. Plans, prices and VAT
- Our plans are Apprentice (€20 a month or €180 a year), Journeyman (€30 a month or €300 a year) and Master (€40 a month or €380 a year). What each plan includes is shown on our pricing page.
- Prices exclude VAT. We add VAT at the applicable rate (23% for customers in Ireland). Where the reverse charge applies to an EU business with a valid VAT number, we don't charge VAT and you account for it.
- Subscriptions are paid in advance by card through our payment provider, Stripe, and renew automatically at the end of each monthly or yearly period until cancelled. We send a VAT invoice for each payment.
- We may change our prices. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email before a price change applies to your subscription, and the new price takes effect from your next renewal after that notice. If you don't want to continue at the new price, you can cancel before it applies.
- If a payment fails, we'll ask you to update your card. If it still isn't paid, your account may become read-only until it is.
5. Changing plan and cancelling
- You can switch plans, update your card, see your invoices or cancel at any time from Pricing → Manage Subscription in Handl, or by contacting us.
- Upgrades take effect straight away, and you're charged the prorated difference for the rest of the current period. Downgrades and switches to a shorter billing period take effect at the end of the current period.
- When you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for, then your account becomes read-only. Payments already made aren't refunded for part-used periods, except where the law requires a refund.
- You can delete your account and all its data at any time from the delete account page or in the mobile app. Deleting your account also cancels your subscription. Deletion is permanent, so export anything you need first.
6. Taking card payments from your customers
- To take card payments through Handl you connect your own Stripe account. Stripe provides the payment service under its own terms, including the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which you accept with Stripe.
- You are the seller to your customers. You're responsible for your prices, invoices, refunds, chargebacks and disputes with them, and for your own tax obligations.
- We charge an application fee on each card payment collected through Handl: 2.5% + €0.20 on Apprentice, 1.5% + €0.20 on Journeyman and 1% + €0.20 on Master and during the free trial. The fee is deducted from the payment by Stripe. We'll give at least 30 days' notice of any increase. There's no fee for payments you record yourself.
7. Your data
- Your data stays yours. That includes your clients, jobs, quotes, invoices, photos, test records and other content you put into Handl. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide, secure and support the Service.
- For personal data about your own customers and staff, you are the controller and we are your processor. The processing terms in section 8 apply.
- You can export your client list, and download quotes, invoices and other documents as PDFs, at any time. We keep your data while your account exists, including while it's read-only. When you delete your account, we delete its data as described in our privacy policy.
8. Data processing terms
Where we process personal data on your behalf (Article 28 of the GDPR), we will:
- process it only on your documented instructions, which are these terms and your use of the Service, unless the law requires otherwise;
- make sure people who can access it are bound by confidentiality;
- keep appropriate technical and organisational security measures in place;
- use only the sub-processors listed in our privacy policy, under written terms giving equivalent protection, and tell you before adding or replacing one so you can object;
- help you respond to requests from people exercising their data protection rights, and with security, breach notification and impact assessments, taking into account what information we have;
- tell you without undue delay after becoming aware of a personal data breach affecting your data;
- delete the data when you delete your account, unless the law requires us to keep it; and
- make available the information needed to show we meet these obligations.
You're responsible for having a lawful basis to put your customers' and staff's personal data into Handl, and for telling them about it where required.
9. Acceptable use
Don't use the Service to break the law or anyone's rights, to send spam, to upload malware, to try to access other accounts or our systems without permission, to overload or reverse engineer the Service, or to resell it without our written agreement.
10. Professional responsibility
Handl is a tool to help you run your business. It doesn't give legal, tax, accounting or engineering advice. In particular:
- Electrical test records, pass and fail indications, limits and test guides are aids only. You remain responsible for the testing, the results, your work and any certification. Interim certificates produced by Handl are documents generated from the results you enter; Handl isn't endorsed by Safe Electric, NSAI or any certification body.
- You're responsible for checking quotes, invoices, VAT rates and other figures before you send them.
11. Beta features and changes to the Service
Some features are labelled beta. They work but may change, and we may withdraw them. We improve Handl continually and may change or remove features. If we remove a significant feature of a paid plan, we'll tell you in advance, and you can cancel.
12. Availability and support
We aim to keep Handl available and working well, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may need maintenance windows. Support is available by WhatsApp (+353 86 817 2573) and email (info@puredigital.ie).
13. Intellectual property
We own the Service, including its software, design and the Handl name and logo. We give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service while your account is active, under these terms. If you send us feedback, we may use it without any obligation to you.
14. Liability
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law.
- Subject to that, we're not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss.
- Subject to that, our total liability arising out of or in connection with these terms in any 12-month period is limited to the subscription fees you paid us in that period.
- Because Handl is a business service, consumer protection laws that apply only to consumers don't apply, to the extent the law allows.
15. Suspension and ending these terms
You can stop using Handl and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or where the law requires us to. Where reasonable, we'll warn you first and give you a chance to export your data. We may also end the Service as a whole with at least 60 days' notice and a pro-rata refund of any prepaid fees for the period after it ends.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes we'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email or in Handl. If you keep using Handl after the change takes effect, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can cancel before then.
17. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the courts of Ireland have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. Please contact us first: most problems can be sorted out quickly.
